The Verde Partnership Coalition is a collaboration between several organizations in North Richmond committed to strengthening low income families and providing quality care and education to children in poverty. Hands-on garden activities are emphasized as a means to bolster student achievement in science, language arts, and social studies, and provides parents with skills and networks of support which empower them to become stronger citizens and advocates for their children. The coalition is working to expand an existing informally organized community garden into a multi-ethnic, multigenerational system of support and care for children in poverty.
