To distill the principles and practices from the Truth & Reconciliation Commission in South Africa and other restorative justice work around the world into a process that can be used to heal relationships and communities at every level of society.Our goal is to train thousands of individuals who can use these principles and practices around the world to restore community and create a global culture of peace.Our project came out of ongoing conversations with Desmond Tutu over the last year. The goals include: - To create an effective training based on the best field-tested and research-based practices for bringing lasting truth, forgiveness, and reconciliation. - To create a global community of trainers who can facilitate truth, forgiveness, and reconciliation work and support one another as they do their work in their respective communities. - To conduct the training at existing institutions around the world and ultimately at the Tutu Peace Centre in Cape Town after its completion. - To create a self-sustaining, non-profit business model where the tuition for the training supports the ongoing work of the Centre, the satellite sites, and the overall organization.
