Project Description:

Environmental Defender Law Center (EDLC) obtains free legal representation for individuals and groups in the developing world who fight for the environment and for their affected communities, and who have suffered abuses of their human rights. EDLC identifies cases where these environmental defenders want and would benefit from such assistance, and then enlists American lawyers from premier law firms to work pro bono on their behalf.
