Our mission is to promote equal and better health worldwide by advancing healthcare providers' understanding of diseases and conditions that affect global populations, increasing knowledge of the basic principles and practices of emergency medicine and public health, and promoting medical self-reliance in communities throughout the world. The Center develops and presents training programs designed to help medical personnel address major public health issues such as malnutrition, injury, and maternal and infant health, as well as to improve prevention and treatment of devastating diseases such as HIV, malaria, tuberculosis, and other tropical illnesses.
