Project Description:

Formed in 1987 to empower the Arab American, Arab immigrant and Muslim community, AROC represents the expansion of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee-San Francisco (ADC-SF, AROC’s previous name), an organization with a long history of protecting the civil rights of Arab communities, to allow for the growth of the organization. AROC plays the critical role of strengthening the Bay Area Arab American community's capacity for civic participation and leadership in response to ongoing racial profiling, discriminatory anti-immigration policies, hate crimes, stereotyping, and marginalization.
