Founded in 1998, the Adolescent Health Working Group is a public/private community collaborative that works with health care providers, administrators, policy makers, and youth advocates to ensure that young people have unimpeded access to high quality health services by:· Advocating for policies that ensure health insurance and access to comprehensive care, · Producing tools and trainings that increase providers' capacity to effectively serve youth, · Conducting direct youth outreach to help young people become wise consumers of health care, and · Convening stakeholders for information sharing, networking and other field building activities. The AHWG's achievements in these areas have been possible through the hard work of a small staff, contributions of an active 16-member Steering Committee and collaboration with participants from our 200-member network of adolescent health stakeholders.
