The artAffects program focuses on bringing an art experience to children in challenging environments. Art has the great potential to alleviate some of the stresses children experience in difficult times and can assist in the healing process. artAffects also provides additional support to the work done by the teachers and Child Life specialists within both of the hospitals it currently serves in Southern CA. artAffects’ primary mission is to provide an art experience to pediatric inpatients and outpatients that may assist in the healing process. The goal is to provide an environment where a child may learn his or her limitless potential to create. The hope is to allow our pediatric patients moments where they are in control and are distracted from what may be an extremely stressful time. Art is the perfect tool for achieving these goals.
