Emerson Community Collaborative

Program: Community Development & Services

Project Description:

The Emerson Community Collaborative was established to address the academic achievement gap among students in South Berkeley. Surveys of families at Emerson suggest that the primary cause of the achievement gap relates to unequal access to resources for meeting basic health and nutrition needs as well as unequal access to resources that support academic achievement. ECC will address student achievement disparities by offering challenging educational programs, increase services to families, expand after school programs and extended care, as well as providing case management. It is our mission to provide a caring, collaborative learning environment where all of our students, regardless of their socio-economic status, will enjoy academic and social success.

Geographical Scope: San Francisco Bay Area
